We still produce all of our disana items ourselves. And where work is done, mistakes happen. Small flaws that do not affect the item's wearing properties or lifespan are put up for sale as '2nd choice' in our store. This might be a small knitting error, a stain, or a bar tack that isn't perfectly concealed. Our quality assurance is always very strict.
Additionally, we offer models and colors from previous seasons, trade fair samples, or items from our sample department as '2nd choice' in our sale.
And 1st choice (premium items)?
We supply over 900 retailers in about 25 countries worldwide with our disana items. They are required to sell our items at a globally uniform, non-binding minimum price. According to our retailers, this is at the lower limit of what is economically viable. Besides the cost of goods and shipping, there are often widely varying costs for the store or shipping, personnel, electricity and heating, and a thousand other things. That is why most retailers sell our items sometimes significantly above this minimum price.
We sell our disana items in our store at this minimum price. We also incur costs for selling the goods, and we do not want to create unfair competition for our local retailers by selling 1st choice items below our own minimum price.
