Does disana wool scratch the skin?

No. We exclusively use the finest Merino sheep's wool from controlled organic animal husbandry. The fibres are particularly long and finely crimped, making them exceptionally soft. Unlike conventional wool, Merino wool does not prickle but gently hugs sensitive baby skin.

What does "mulesing-free" mean at disana?

Animal welfare is our top priority. Mulesing is a painful procedure performed on sheep to prevent flystrike. For our organic wool from Patagonia, this procedure is strictly forbidden. The GOTS certification ensures the entire chain — from the sheep to the finished jumper — is strictly monitored.

Do I need to wash wool garments before the first wear?

No, this is not necessary for disana items. Our textiles contain no harmful chemical residues or finishes. You can snuggle your baby into the soft wool directly after unpacking.

What should I do about "pilling" (small bobbles)?

Pilling is a sign of quality for untreated natural wool, not a defect. It is caused by friction when short fibres become loose. These bobbles can easily be removed with a wool shaver. After a few treatments, the material stabilises and pilling decreases.

How does the repair service work?

We want our clothing to be passed down through generations. Should a hole appear or a cuff wear through, we will repair it in our in-house workshop. Find more information here: disana-shop.de/en/spare-parts-repair

What are the delivery costs and how quickly will it be delivered?

We dispatch directly from our manufactory in Germany. Within Germany, delivery is free for orders over €80, and across the EU for orders over €150. The standard delivery time is 1–3 working days. Details can be found under Delivery and Returns.
